The 2016 Leadership Cayman Class completed their latest seminar of the programme last Wednesday, 25th May.
Entitled Stay Over & Cruise Tourism, the seminar allowed the class members to explore Carnival Liner’s ‘Freedom’ ship. They were taken on a tour of the ship and were treated to a lunch on the Lido Deck during their visit also.
The session continued later on in the day at the Ritz Carlton (who also sponsored the seminar) where the class enjoyed dinner, before discussing the events of the day and engaging in a Q&A with the invited guest panellists.
The guest speakers for the evening included Kenneth Hydes, CITA President and VP Special Projects, Dart Realty (Cayman) Ltd.; Joseph Hew, George Town MLA and Councillor, Ministry of Tourism; Patrick Thompson, Financial Controller at the Tourism Attraction Board; and Marc Langevin, General Manager Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman.
The seminar was moderated by class members Lancelott Barnes and Louise Krantz-Tate, and mentored by Chamber Councillor James O’Brien, Ritz Carlton Residency Manager and past Leadership Cayman graduate.
The class members also successfully completed their Green Light RE sponsored Group Project over the weekend. The class performed physical labour tasks throughout the day, including the likes of installing privacy screens, painting walls and planting trees. However, due to confidentiality agreements, we cannot reveal the project’s location.
The 2016 Leadership Cayman Class have two seminars remaining, prior to their programme graduation at the end June.
