Moving into Management is a two day course designed to help individuals who have been recently appointed to a supervisory or managerial position or who could benefit from an update on their supervisory role.

TRANSITION INTO MANAGEMENT

- Review the five basic tools of management
- How to serve as a role model by setting the pace.
- Understanding employee expectations and your role as a coach
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
- Review the advantages of working as a team
- Learn to appreciate diversity
- Learn how to keep communication lines open between team members.
- Complete exercises in problem solving and managing team members.
MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
- Review the basic steps in a planning process.
- Set goals that achieve results
- Learn how to prioritize tasks and delegate work
- Learn how to present your ideas to a group
- Understand basic human relations principles and how they impact productivity.
- Review motivational techniques
- Learn about the importance of positive reinforcement
- Learn what to do when you have to discipline staff.

INSTRUCTOR
Terry Carson, CA, CMA is an audit partner in the firm of Grant Thornton in Grand Cayman and has been a Senior Financial Officer in various businesses for the past 19 years. He has been presented with many awards in both public speaking and finance and has provided training throughout Canada and the Caribbean.
