Members are urged to review a discussion paper entitled “Consumer Protection: Entrenching Consumer Supremacy in Cayman Islands Legislation”.

Drafted by the Cayman Islands Law Reform Commission, the paper examines several issues and proposals made in relation to the introduction of consumer protection legislation.

The paper suggests that by introducing legislation it will “safeguard the interests of the consumer in matters relating to the supply of goods and services while seeking to avoid the imposition of additional burdens on reputable business enterprises.”

Members are invited to make submissions on the issues and proposals identified in the Discussion Paper and to share your views with the Chamber Council via email to wil.pineau@caymanchamber.ky. All submissions will remain confidential.
