Situated in Caribbean Plaza along Seven Mile Beach, Chamber member Munki: Fashion House is a must visit store for your clothing retail needs.

Munki: have been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce since they joined in 2014, recently donating some raffle prizes during a Member Information Session.

During that session in fact, Munki Fashion House owner Shirley Scott generously donated $25 gift vouchers to all attendees!

We chatted with Shirley and asked her some questions about her business and her Chamber membership.

Q: What is your favourite item of clothing you currently stock?

A: My favourite item at the moment is a Linen & Cotton playsuit. Very light, easy to wear. UK fashion is great.

Q: Why would you recommend joining the Chamber Membership?

A: The Chamber has a lot to offer a small business, and marketing is one of them. It can get very expensive for a small business and the Chamber have very affordable marketing plans for a small business and very knowledgeable people to help you. This has been very helpful to me.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge as a small business in Cayman?

A: My biggest challenge has been getting my business out there. That’s why the Chamber is great for me. You can go to the meetings they have and spread the word that way, but as I said the Chamber has been a big help for me marketing wise.

Q: What advice would you give to those wanting to open their own fashion house?

A: Take a chance. Be brave. Do your research. Give it your all and enjoy. You have to keep up with the latest trends and also try to educate people on style and fashion.
