New Chamber President Kyle Broadhurst Delivers Inaugural Address at Chamber AGM

Kyle Broadhurst Speech - AGM 2017

Kyle Broadhurst delivered his first speech as Chamber President to the membership on February 15, at the 2016 Annual General Meeting.

Kyle took to the stage to inform the audience of the goals of his Presidency – particularly a more dominant focus on Education in the Cayman Islands. Kyle commented:

“For our economy to grow and for our unemployment rate to decrease, we must emphasise the need for better education. By not doing so, we are simply not providing Caymanians the chance they deserve.”

In 2016, the Chamber ran two series of focus groups during which the issue of educational standards was raised. Kyle took these comments into sincere consideration, and as such wants to improve standard for young Caymanians and to ensure a bright future for Cayman.

Kyle also stated that the Chamber would be visiting local schools over the course of the next year to find out from the source what issues are currently stunting educational growth.

President Broadhurst also addressed the issues surrounding Economic Growth. He stated that economic growth is not a ‘dirty term’ as it is often perceived as, and that support of growing the economy ‘will have wide ranging positive impact.’

He also addressed the divisive political events of 2016, and had one simple message for the upcoming elections and the Government appointed from them: ‘Let’s build Cayman together.’

Kyle Broadhurst’s Presidency will follow the Chamber’s 2016-18 Strategic Plan, and he is confident that positive change will be instigated during the course of the next 12 months.
