The Cayman Registry discussed opportunities in the Global Superyacht Market to the Chamber membership on Wednesday, March 29.
Mr. Joel Walton, Cayman Registry CEO, delivered a presentation in which he explained the current trends, features and regulations of the industry in its current state.
A crowded conference room listened intently to Mr. Walton’s comments, which he concluded with an explanation of existing and potential opportunities for the Islands.
He highlighted the expansion of the Cayman Registry and Private Sector services in a vessel and mortgage registrations amongst the existing opportunities, and explained how yacht tourism is an emerging market that we could take advantage of.
Amongst the emerging opportunities, Mr. Walton noted business and employment opportunities in the following maritime support subsectors:
• Yacht management;
• Brokerage;
• Financing;
• Marine insurance;
• Crew management; and
• Benefits processing.
