ICYMI: 2017 Careers Expo a Resounding Success

Careers Expo 2017

The 2017 Careers, Education & Training Expo was a resounding success, with hundreds of students and Caymanian residents attending the event at the Arts & Recreation Centre (ARC) in Camana Bay.

Over 30 brilliant businesses and colleges were represented at the event, providing visitors with information about career and educational opportunities.

The Chamber has held the Expo for over 20 years, first hosting the event in 1995. Since then, students and residents who have attended have gone on to receive scholarships and gain work experience with exhibiting companies and schools.

At the 2016 Annual General Meeting, the Chamber announced that education would be the primary focus of our efforts in 2017, and for the foreseeable future. President Kyle Broadhurst reiterated this fact during an opening address at the Expo, where he also announced the formation of a new Education Committee.

The Education Committee will be led by an expert panel who will assess education-related legislation and provide recommendations for change to Government. The Committee, along with representatives from the Chamber Council, will also be visiting all local high schools.
