Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that Pinnacle Foods Inc. has voluntarily issued a recall for all “Best By” dates of Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes, Frozen Waffles & Frozen French Toast Slices distributed nationally in the United States and one product into Mexico because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported. The products are being recalled as a precautionary measure given the health and safety of their consumers is their top priority. Pinnacle Foods initiated the recall after testing indicated the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the plant environment.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Foster’s Food Fair-IGA is affected by this recall, and the affected products have been pulled from the shelves.

Customers should check the UPC on Aunt Jemima products in your home to be sure none of the affected product has been purchased. They encourage all customers who have purchased this product from any of their Foster’s Food Fair-IGA locations to return the affected product for a full refund. Please discontinue use of any affected product.
