Flags Lowered for Manchester Victims |
|
Flags flying at half-mast at the Government Administration Building today (Tuesday, 23 May 2017). Flags at all government buildings in the Cayman Islands were lowered to half-mast this morning (Tuesday, 23 May 2017) as a mark of respect for the victims of a suicide-bombing in Manchester, U.K. last night. As of this morning, there were known to be 22 people dead, and around 60 injured, as a result of the atrocity. Flags will be flown at half-mast on all government and public buildings throughout the Cayman Islands until further notice. The correct procedure for half-masting a flag is to raise the flag to the normal flying position and then to lower to one-third below that. If more than one flag is flown, any others should preferably also be half-masted.
