Police Respond to Boating Incident in North Sound on July 8

On 8 July, just after 9pm, the police responded to a 9-1-1 Communications report, stating that a vessel had ran aground on iron shore in the Vista Del Mar area.

Uniform officers attended the location with the assistance of the Police Helicopter. Four persons were on board the vessel. The Captain of the boat sustained what is said to be non-life threatening facial injuries and has been flown off island for surgery.

The first mate and other occupants also sustained injuries. They were all taken to the George Town Hospital, treated and later released.

The boat is said to have received extensive damages. The matter is currently being investigated by the Joint Marine Unit.
