2018 Careers, Education & Training Expo to Attract Over 700 Students

Careers Expo 2017

The Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Careers, Education & Training Expo is expected to bring over 700 students to UCCI’s Sir Vassel Johnson Hall this Friday, February 23 from 10:00 AM.

The Expo is also open to members of the general public, and all attendees will have an opportunity to speak with over 30 business and organisations who will be in attendance to showcase their scholarship, internship and career opportunities.

“The Careers Expo is one of our most important events, as it is the perfect place for our members to engage with high-school and college students and introduce them to the opportunities that are available after graduation,” said President Paul Byles.

“As illustrated in the Chamber’s Advocacy Agenda & Action Plan, it is important that the transition from the classroom and the workplace is seamless, and the Careers Expo is an excellent way for young Caymanians to be fully aware of their future options.”

The Chamber of Commerce will also have a booth, where members of staff will be promoting the newly introduced Summer Work Experience programme. The programme encourages member businesses to hire a high school student through the summer to introduce them to the world of work and give them a taste of what their future might hold.
