Director Craig Milley to explain Procurement Law changes at BE INFORMED session

The Procurement Law will be the focus of the latest BE INFORMED session to be held at the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 4.

Cabinet has approved the commencement of the new Procurement Law & Regulations, and it is set to take effect on May 1, 2018. This new legislation will impact not only the government, but also the supplier community. Mr. Craig Milley, Director of the Central Procurement Office, will be on hand to describe the changes in detail, and how the new legislation will affect local business owners.

Mr. Milley will be joined Mr. Peter Gough (Management Support Advisor, Portfolio of the Civil Service) and Ms. Elizabeth Gerrie (Deputy Director, Central Procurement Office). As well as explaining the changes to the law, the group will provide attendees with resources to keep them informed of government procurement.

“Like the proposed Consumer Protections & Guarantees Consultative Draft Bill, the changes to the Procurement Law will impact a number of our members, and it’s important that these businesses keep up to date with these amendments,” said President Paul Byles.

“The last BE INFORMED session had a large turnout of business owners concerned about how they would be affected, and I encourage all business owners concerned about the Procurement Law changes to join us for this brilliant opportunity to speak with Director Craig Milley,” he added.
