Recruitment for cadets now open

Learning valuable life skills, practicing good morals and high standards of conduct are just some of the attributes of a Cadet Corps member.

The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps (CICC) is looking for new recruits between the ages 11 – 16, to join the Band Detachment or the Marine Detachment and School Detachments at John Gray High School, Clifton Hunter High School, Layman Scott High School and Triple C School.

Sponsored by the Ministry of EYSAL, The CICC is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, and personal responsibility. It also instils in them a sense of accomplishment, self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline.

The wholesome programme achieves these objectives through a challenging, military-style programme that includes drilling, field craft and adventure, navigation, first-aid, competition shooting, physical and leadership training, music and band to water-based activities among other subjects. Member are provided with vocational training with the opportunity to obtain BTEC Qualifications in Public Service and Music (Level 2 – 3)
