Appleby Cayman adds two Partners and one Counsel following internal promotions

Appleby has promoted two of its Corporate lawyers – Samuel Banks and Jacob MacAdam - to Partner and one of its Dispute Resolution lawyers – Paul Kennedy - to Counsel. Samuel Banks is a member of the Corporate practice group at Appleby with a focus on Blockchain technology and insurance. He is recommended as a leading lawyer in Legal 500 and is actively engaged in all aspects of Corporate, Finance, Technology and Insurance Law in the Cayman Islands. Samuel was an Appleby legal scholarship recipient and went through the firm’s Articled Clerk programme before climbing the ranks to Partner.

Jacob MacAdam has been with Appleby since 2011 in the Corporate practice group. He focuses on corporate finance, banking and finance, fund finance, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and capital markets transactions. Jacob also has deep regulatory expertise, particularly in the banking and fiduciary space.

Paul Kennedy has been in the Dispute Resolution practice group since 2014 and a member of the Funds Disputes team. He has acted in commercial litigation in the Grand Court and Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands, the Irish High Court, in ADR and regulatory processes and in appeals to the Privy Council.

Across all offices, Appleby has promoted nine lawyers, effective 1 April 2018. All appointments are subject to relevant Immigration approvals.
