Celebrate Cayman to launch on Monday, June 4

Celebrate Cayman Official Launch Ceremony Invitation

A year-long celebration of the Coat of Arms will officially kick off on Monday 4 June.

The public is invited to take part in the Celebrate Cayman launch ceremony. The event, which was postponed by a week due inclement weather, will begin at 10 a.m. on the greens of the Glass House Building (next to the Government Administration Building).

“We are so looking forward to the official start of Celebrate Cayman. Over the past few weeks, we have shared the Celebrate Cayman backstory, the logo which features the Coat of Arms, ways to get involved in the celebrations, and more. The launch ceremony is the first opportunity for the local community to come together to commemorate this milestone in our history and to get a glimpse of what to expect in the year ahead. We encourage the public to join in the celebration and connect with our history and culture” comments the Celebrate Cayman project team.

H.E. the Governor, The Premier, Cabinet Secretary and other government officials will attend the launch event on the 4 June, with some government officials giving remarks. There will be a reading of the Coat of Arms proclamation and attendees will get a first look at featured initiatives and activities set for the coming year of celebration. The public will also be able to enjoy a taste of local food and culture.

The public is encouraged to share their photos of the event on social media using the hashtag #CelebrateCayman.

The launch event is the first of monthly celebratory events planned. To learn more about the Celebrate Cayman festivities you can visit the dedicated website www.celebratecayman.ky/
