Stars Come Out at Business Excellence Awards

KeithTibbetts-15The finalists in this year’s Business Excellence Awards (BEA) have been named, and will soon be the stars of a gala event.

For the second year, the efforts and achievements of local business operators will be celebrated for best-practices and corporate citizenship.

This awards programme, a Chamber of Commerce initiative, allows the endeavours of its members – from micro-businesses to large organisations – to be recognised. The nominees included government statutory authorities.

The 2018 grand finalists, in six categories, are: Business of the Year (Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort & Water Authority-Cayman); Commitment to Education (DART & Health City Cayman Islands); Community Impact Award (The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman & Yello Media Group); Entrepreneur of the Year (Cayman Water, Fuse-In Designs & Island Naturals); Marketing Campaign of the Year (Rocky’s Diamond Gallery & Vagabond Media Group Ltd.); and Small Business of the Year (eShore Ltd & Kelly Holding).

The winners, and the efforts which led to their selection, will be unveiled on Saturday evening, October 27th during the awards ceremony at The Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman.

Residents, especially members of the business community, are encouraged to come out and support these innovators and business leaders who enable the development of the Cayman Islands.

In a highlight of the evening, Mr. Keith Parker Tibbetts Jr. will be honoured as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Business for 2018.

His sterling contributions to business and community life in the Cayman Islands will be celebrated at this festive evening, which will include a ‘Yello’ reception and an after-party, with dancing and live entertainment by Sea N’ B.

The “Parker” story will trace his roots in the industrious Tibbetts family of Watering Place, Cayman Brac, through a series of well-crafted business decisions, his total commitment to Associated Industries and other enterprises, and an equally-determined focus on making a positive difference in society.

The BEA is a public-private initiative, signifying the importance of the work of the commercial sector in the local and global marketplaces. The awards are again being hosted jointly by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Commerce, Planning and Infrastructure, with the support of private-sector sponsors.
