Almost 200 people took advantage of the 35 scheduled courses provided by the Chamber’s Professional Development & Training Centre in the first quarter of 2015. Courses such as Basic Grammar & Writing and Moving into Management sold out quickly making it necessary to add additional seminars to the schedule. If you’re not one of the lucky people who have benefited from these educational opportunities don’t worry as there are many more courses scheduled before the end of the year!

May courses are selling out quickly as well. Book early for your spot in The Essentials of Supervision (May 7), Business Continuity & Disaster Planning (May 12), Communicating Effectively (May 20 & 21), and Understanding Financial Statements (May 26 & 27).

“Education and workforce development is a key focus of the Chamber of Commerce, and in today’s economy where people are losing jobs through down-sizing and closures, it is important to make yourself the most desirable employee possible. And it stands to reason that the most desirable employee is an educated employee.

Professional development training opportunities also assist companies who are looking to restructure and be more innovative in their business planning initiatives. This can often be achieved by the development of management and other key skills within existing staff members” said Wil Pineau,CCE, CEO, Chamber of Commerce.

This popular centre has been providing Chamber of Commerce members and their employees, as well as the wider community, with high quality and affordable training programmes, workshops, and seminars since 1995. Courses specialise in Customer Service, Business Essentials, Business Basics, Finance, and Supervision and Management, always keeping in mind the need for powerful, practical and cost efficient training to make the most of our member’s valuable time and training dollar.

The training centre provides professional and qualified local and international facilitators that take great care in providing attendees with the most up to date and relevant information in their field. All training courses are held at the Chamber of Commerce conference room, Unit 4-107, Governors Square, West Bay Road from 9am – 4:30pm unless otherwise stated.
