Chamber vision: to become the Catalyst for Positive Change

2016 Council-staff-strategic

The Chamber Council and Staff met for a two-day weekend session earlier in February to develop a Strategic Plan that will be implemented for the next three years. The meetings consisted of discussions aimed at how the Chamber can succeed in our mission to support, promote, and protect the community and businesses of the Cayman Islands. They also discussed ways of how to meet our vision of becoming the catalyst for positive change for our communities, businesses, and government.

Business, community, and government were at the forefront of the discussion. Emphasis was placed predominantly on the goal to promote economic stimulation and growth on our Islands. The Council also prioritised improved collaborations with government to implement positive community and business related policies, and the strengthening of our relationship with the community to enhance the quality of life.

The Chamber currently offers a wide range of workshops and sessions for businesses, hosts numerous community events annually, and works with government on contracted business sessions. But whilst it is apparent we are an active organisation, we want to highlight and emphasise more of the work we do to ensure that everyone within our community has the best understanding of what we do and how we benefit them.

One way that we aim to succeed in making this Strategic Plan an absolute success for the next three years is by setting up four committees which will meet on a monthly basis to discuss some of the key areas raised in the plan itself. You can read more about the committee structure changes here.
