Chamber of Commerce CEO Wil Pineau and administrative assistant Trisha Meyerhoff attended a 2-day training session in Saint Maarten earlier this month.
The Caymanian pair were providing attendees from English, French, and Dutch overseas territories with vital information and teaching them a range of skills for the newly developed COSME website.
Funded by the European Union, the COSME website (also known as Carib Connect) is designed to strengthen the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises in the Caribbean.
By participating, the Chamber of Commerce is ensuring that entrepreneurs and SMEs in the Cayman Islands can grow and improve.
The training provided the attendees from a host of offshore countries and territories with information for the COSME website and directions on how to best utilise the user portal.
The Chamber of Commerce representatives successfully taught the necessary skills for territory spokespersons to attract entrepreneurs and SME owners to their respective Islands.
In 2015, over US$2.5M worth of investments were funnelled through to SMEs in 13 of these offshore countries. With investments like this, the Carib Connect programme is a necessity for our economy and business environments.
If you are an SME owner or budding entrepreneur in the Cayman Islands then the COSME website is of the utmost importance for your business.
