Kristin Dilbert, International Financial Adviser for Blacktower, currently sits on the Government Relations Committee, and we asked her some more questions about the business and their involvement with the Chamber.
Q: Who should be considering saving their money now, and why?
A: Everyone should have savings. Whether you are at the beginning of your career or preparing for retirement, you should have a financial plan. As long as you are employed and have an income you should be saving a portion of your income. Creating a budget is the key to saving money, the amount of money you are saving is not as important as making the conscious effort of creating a budget or financial plan and committing to it. Whether you are saving $100 or $1,000, you are creating a secure future.
Q: What do you hope to achieve on the Government Relations Committee?
A: As a member of the Government Relations Committee ("GRC") it is my intention to advocate for the local business community and bring forward Chamber member concerns to the relevant Government agencies. The GRC provides a voice for the members of the Chamber of Commerce to assist with and recommend policy or procedure changes within the Government. Being a part of this committee I hope to achieve the necessary changes needed within the Government, so that our local business community can continue to grow and be successful.
Q: Why would you recommend joining the Chamber membership?
A: I would recommend joining the Chamber membership to any company in the Cayman Islands, as the Chamber provides a wealth of resources and educational advantages for small, medium and large corporations.
