Chamber CEO, Wil Pineau, CCE has returned to the Cayman Islands with newly acquired knowledge about business incubators.
Along with UCCI’s Dr. J.D. Mosley-Matchett, Wil was representing the Cayman Islands during the week-long trip in the Netherlands’ Eindhoven region.
The pair spent the week attending seminars about business incubation throughout Holland, and even travelled to physical incubators to see the concept in action. Wil even got involved with some carpentry and wood-working whilst visiting an incubator which focused on arts & crafts.
The information learnt by Wil during the week in Holland will be compiled into a report for the Chamber Council and ultimately distributed to the Community & Membership Development Committee. The Chamber will begin to take the information and put it into practice, hopefully forming business incubators throughout the Cayman Islands in the near future.
The trip was organised by COSME, an EU funded initiative which seeks to provide support for small businesses throughout British, Dutch, and French offshore territories.
Representatives from COSME and its CaribConnect initiative will be visiting the Islands this month as they launch a new website and facilitate a business incubation clinic. The two-day event, taking place on the evenings of October 12-13, is completely free and we invite all of you to register for the workshops today.
Wil’s report on his trip and his findings will be available to download from the Chamber website once it has been completed.
