Chamber President Releases Statement on US Election Result

The following is a statement by Chamber President, Paul Pearson, in regards to the result of the US Elections on November 8, and President-elect Donald Trump's victory.

“Trump’s election win will shift the political and economic agenda for the United States over the next four years. It will be interesting to see how his administration’s policies will impact foreign relations and immigration particularly with the United Kingdom and its Overseas Territories."

"The Cayman economy is closely linked with the United States and we must do everything we can to ensure that relations remain cordial and positive in order to support of our tourism and international financial services sectors."

"Trump is a business leader so we urge him to follow through with his election agenda to introduce policies that support economic growth and fair trade that will lead to an increase in the wealth and disposable income of middle class Americans who travel to the Cayman Islands in great numbers to attend conferences and to vacation here.”
