Attendees Acquire Fraud Prevention Skills at Seminars

Fraud Prevention 2016

Attendees at Fraud Prevention Seminars on November 15 & 16 acquired crucial skills that will protect themselves and their businesses.

The seminars - which were organised by a partnership of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), and the Chamber of Commerce - saw invited guests from Britain and the USA deliver speeches on how to protect against fraudulent behaviour and cash.

Among those facilitating seminars were British organisation De La Rue, the United States Secret Service, and Walter Hernandez from Cayman National Bank.

Each session was opened with a welcoming address by Chamber President Paul Pearson. Mr. Derek Byrne, Commissioner of Police for RCIPS, was also on hand during the morning session on Tuesday 15 to deliver some inspiring words; whilst Mr. Patrick Bodden, Deputing Managing Director of Operations for CIMA, was present during the afternoon sessions.

The Fraud Prevention Seminars (which have been run for several years now) always provide its attendees with vital information that ensures the future safety and wellbeing of their businesses and themselves. However, not everyone can attend the seminars when they are held, so it's important that those who were absent can still benefit from the valuable information that was offered.

Other presentations will be available for download when they are retrieved by the Chamber.

The Chamber would like to thank its sponsors - Butterfield, Cayman Islands Bankers' Association, Cayman National, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, and Fidelity - for their support in this series of seminars.
