Gender Equality Presentation

Presentation by:
Tammie Ebanks, Senior Policy Advisor for Gender Affairs in the Ministry of Community Affairs, Gender and Housing

Also in attendance:
Reshma Sharma, Senior Crown Counsel (Treaties and Conventions) and Karen Stephen-Dalton Legislative Counsel (Financial Services), both of whom worked with the Ministry in the drafting of this piece of Legislation.

The presentation will include a general overview of the main points of the new Law, how it relates to the international human rights convention, CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) and why promoting gender equality makes good business sense. Mrs. Ebanks will also share some best practice principles and policies to promote gender equality. A question and answer period will follow.
