This course will feature a combination of theory and fundamentals, as well as a hands-on workshop approach on the important topics of Employment Contracts, including the proper construction of them and related protocols. At the end of this 1-day course, attendees will be given a solid basis for developing their own instruments, and will also spend some time in a workshop setting on developing new or improving their existing Contract documents.
In undertaking this course, attendees will:
- Appreciate the legislative mandate for Employment Contracts, and penalties for non-compliance;
- Be exposed to the various standard clauses and provisions of Contracts;
- Gain confidence in preparing and amending/revising Contract documents;
- Understand the language and “best practices” used to accommodate various demographic circumstances;
- Gain confidence in administering and enforcing Employment Contracts;
- Understand how local laws and precedents impact the construction and interpretation of Employment Contracts;
- Review and discuss emerging trends.
- Become comfortable with the body of knowledge and methodologies for developing legal and best practices compliant Employment Contracts;
- Enjoy healthy interaction, including Questions and Discussions throughout the Course.
Participants should bring a pen and pencil as well as a notebook. Participants should also bring a copy of the Labour Law (2011 Revision) which can be obtained at no additional cost from the Department of Labour & Pensions (2nd floor, Mid-Town Plaza, Elgin Avenue).
