Metal theft is becoming a serious concern in the construction sector in the Cayman Islands and the Chamber of Commerce will discuss this problem and recommend some actions to be taken at BE INFORMED session on Wednesday, 29th May at the Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Centre at 3 p.m.
Contractors and consumers have reported hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen metals including copper, aluminum and lead from worksites and residences. Metal theft is a major problem in the United Kingdom, United States, Jamaica and the Bahamas. Each country has taken action to address the problem. Chamber members are encouraged to attend the presentation, to ask questions and to hear some possible solutions to address this growing problem.The presentation will be delivered by Dave Johnson from the Cayman Contractors' Association. We will be inviting representatives from the RCIPS and Customs to attend.
