The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) will host a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours to mark the beginning of the new academic year on Thursday 18th September from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall.
Chamber members and guests will learn about the several opportunities afforded by the University for businesses in particular. The most obvious advantage for businesses available at UCCI is the Executive Training Centre (ETC). Headed up by Dr. Carolyn Mathews, companies are invited to send their employees to the different courses for professional and personal development. Dr. Mathews also provides consultation services for companies wishing to align their training and staff development plan with their strategic plan.
Over 75 businesses, most of them Chamber members, are currently part of UCCI’s Partners in Education programme. Director of Student Services, Ms. Mary Anne Cannon works closely with these businesses to provide internships and work placements for UCCI students, a mentorship programme and coordinates guest lectures allowing local companies to tap into local talent whilst students are still attending university. Attendees to the Business After Hours are encouraged to find out more about the benefits of becoming a UCCI Partner in Education by meeting Ms. Cannon and her team.
