KAABOO Restricted Fly Zone

George Town, Grand Cayman, (6 February, 2019) – To ensure the safety and security of all guests, staff and performers at the KAABOO Music Festival, the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI), Mr. Richard Smith, has restricted the airspace surrounding the event in accordance with the provisions of Article 68 (1)(a ) of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013, as amended.

The flight of all aircraft, incl uding small unmanned aircraft ( SUA), also known as Drones, is prohibited within 1 (one) nautical mile of the KAABOO Music Festival at 47 Sundown Close, Seven Mile Beach up to 2000 ft. above mean sea level. For the avoidance of doubt, the restriction applies to both app roved commercial SUA/Drone operators and recreational enthusiasts unless specifically appr oved for this event by the CAACI. 

The CAACI is collaborating with the RCIPS to ensure the restric ted airspace is appropriately policed and notice is hereby given that any infringement of this restri ction could lead to prosecution in accordance with the provisions of Article 185 of the Air Naviga tion (Overseas Territories) Order 2013, as amended.
