Appleby Cayman Announces 2019 Promotions

Appleby Cayman is pleased to announce the promotions of the following lawyers:

To Partner (Corporate):

David Bulley - David leads the Cayman corporate restructuring, distressed debt and special situations team and is a leading member of the Private Equity, Venture Capital and M&A team with a particular focus on transactions involving companies and assets located in Asia.

Liesl Richter – Liesl’s practice areas include subscription finance, structured finance (predominantly involving CLOs), corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of debt and equity and general aspects of corporate law. She has been recognised as a 'rising star' by IFLR1000 as well as an 'Associate to Watch' by Chambers Global in 2019.

Christian Victory - Christian is a Rising Star according to IFLR1000´s 2019 financial and corporate law rankings. Christian specialises in advising funds and fund managers, private equity and corporate clients, on Cayman Islands and BVI investment fund related matters, investment business and licensing matters as well as regulatory and compliance matters.

To Counsel (Corporate):

Peter Colegate - Peter is co-head of Appleby’s Global Technology and Innovation Group. His practice is focused on privacy, data protection and strategic corporate-commercial and regulatory work in the technology and innovation sectors.



Georgina Pullinger – Georgina’s practice areas include subscription finance, corporate finance and corporate and commercial matters. She specialises in subscription financing for private equity funds and regularly advises leading financial institutions on related credit facilities, deal structures and all types of secured transactions.

To Senior Associate (Private Client & Trusts):

Esmond Brown - Esmond’s practice focuses on advising international high-net worth individuals and families on their wealth planning needs and in assisting trustees and private banks on all aspects of trusts including creation, restructuring, administration and succession planning. He also specialises in Wills & Probate and advises on estate planning matters.
