Shomari Scott nominated as Chamber VP

Shomari ScottThe Nomination Committee, chaired by Incoming President Woody Foster, is pleased to submit for the membership’s consideration at the Annual General Meeting and Elections on 8th January nominees for available positions on the 2020 Council.

Shomari Scott, Director of Business Development for Health City Cayman Islands, who has served for the past two years on the Council, has been nominated as Vice President. Other nominees include Colin Robinson, Director, Strategic Risk Solutions, Treasurer; Troy Burke, Owner, Eat Fresh Ltd. (Subway) and Director, Heritage Holdings, Jennifer Cowdory, Managing Director, Aspen Consulting Ltd., and Dave Johnston, Managing Director, Corporate Electric Ltd. as Councillors (two-year position). The nominees possess many years’ experience in the major industry sectors in the Cayman Islands. Click here to review biographies.

Prior to joining Health City, Scott worked with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism for 18 years where he gained a deep understanding of the tourism sector. He began as an intern with the Department and rose through the ranks of the organisation eventually being appointed Director of Tourism. In 2013 he was awarded the Young Caymanian Leadership Award which recognizes outstanding young Caymanians whose achievements and actions make a significant contribution to the islands’ society and who serve as positive role models for other youth.

The Council thanks Immediate Past President Paul Byles and Councillors Nelson Dilbert, Mario Ebanks and Shomari Scott for their years of volunteer service and contributions to the work of the Chamber. The final meeting of the 2019 Council takes place on 11th December.
