CMO orders self-isolation for all international arrivals to prevent the spread of COVID-19

The Chief Medical Officer issued a requirement on Friday 20 March 2020 that all persons who have arrived on flights from outside of the Cayman Islands since Monday, 16 March 2020 are required to self-isolate for fourteen days following their arrival. The requirement reinforces the announcement to this effect from the Premier on Monday, 16 March 2020. 
 
This means that, without exception, any persons landing in the Cayman Islands from an international flight since Monday 16 March need to self-isolate, along with any household contacts, for fourteen full days following their arrival. Failing to do so is an offence under the Public Health Law (2002 Revision) and is liable on conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for six months, and in the case of a continuing offence to a further fine of fifty dollars for every day on which the offence continues after conviction.
