Celebrate the gorgeous earth with Cayman Turtle Centre

Earth Day is almost sneaking up on the Cayman Islands this year, as COVID-19 dominates the news and official press briefings locally and internationally each day. However, one silver lining amidst the chaos of COVID-19 is that people of the Cayman Islands and others in the rest of the world can appreciate the beauty and splendour of the gorgeous earth. It doesn’t matter where people enjoy the natural environment, whether in the deep jungle, on the highest mountain, on a riverbank, or here in the world-famous beautiful Cayman Islands - the earth is amazingly gorgeous. On April 22nd, the day set aside as Earth Day, Cayman Turtle Centre invites people to take a moment and appreciate the place called home.

Cayman Turtle Conservation and Education Centre (CTCEC) is an avid proud sponsor of Earth Day activities. This year, even though COVID-19 precautionary measures have mandated that the Centre temporarily close its doors to the public, the Centre is still finding ways to support Earth Day throughout the entire month of April. “Truth be told, we put a huge emphasis on these activities in April, but we are eco-friendly and earth-conscious all year long. Last year, we were proud that our company participated in the 345-plastic-free pledge and that it was more than just a corporate pledge; most of our crew members participated in this. Also, we have been sponsors of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Clean Ups each year,” said the Centre’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Adam.

“Taking care of the environment, especially our marine environment, and our planet as a whole is always at the top of mind for the Centre,” said the Centre’s Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer, Renee Howell. “We have some interactive and fun activities planned this month that are socially friendly, and appropriate given our COVID-19 circumstances. The activities will be available online through our social media channels, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Be sure to check those out and get social with us, for updates and to participate!”
