CTMH Doctors Hospital – Donates to Sunrise Adult Training Centre

In late July 2020, members of Doctors Hospital visited the Sunrise Adult Training Centre (SATC) in West Bay for a tour of the facilities and to present the staff with a generous donation of 2,500 KYD. This donation is a part of the Doctors Hospital Community Outreach Programme, supporting local projects and businesses associated with healthcare in a broader sense. The relationship between Doctors Hospital and SATC is longstanding and Doctors Hospital has also employed programme participants in the past in order to help integrate SATC clients into society by providing paying jobs.

Mr. David Pellow, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors at Doctors Hospital states that “Sunrise Adult Training Centre is a special place where everyone does so much with what they have – Doctors Hospital is pleased to provide this donation to help the great work done by the clients and the staff – I encourage everyone to take a tour of the facility and give generously.”

SATC provides an integral service for the Cayman Community by providing training, support, employment and independence for adults with disabilities. Although governmentally funded, SATC experienced funding cuts in the last couple of years and they are currently working at capacity. Nevertheless, and due to the need for expanded services for their clients, SATC is currently pursuing the project of a new facility in George Town to meet the needs of their customers better.

Doctors Hospital is deeply thankful to the staff at SATC for their commitment to improving the lives of all their clients and we hope that our donation will have a positive impact for the organization.
