Outage affecting various districts explained

On Wednesday, August 19, 16,054 customers in various districts around Grand Cayman experienced interruptions to their electricity service between 1:37 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

This interruption to service was caused by a loss of generation as one of the Company’s larger generating units experienced technical issues, which triggered a shutdown of other generating units.

CUC apologises for the inconvenience this outage caused.
