The Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA) is the designated supervisory body for firms of attorneys and sole practitioners in the Cayman Islands. The regulatory functions of CILPA include performing the role of Supervisory Authority under the Anti-Money Laundering (Designated Non-Financial Business and Professions) (No 1) Regulations 2017 and assisting and promoting the reform of the law (for the purpose of upholding the rule of law and the administration of justice).

Among CILPA's regulatory activities are: issuing practicing certificates, maintaining a register of attorneys, and law reform activities including submissions on legislation. (All attorneys are regulated and must pay the required regulatory fees and levies).

The representative functions of CILPA are to represent its members and to serve their interests. Services include continuing legal education. Full membership of CILPA is voluntary and is open to any attorney holding a current practicing certificate. The benefits of membership include access to the full range of CILPA's representative services and the opportunity to have a say in the way the profession is supported and regulated.
